About the Role:

We’re looking for a strategic and passionate Creative Director to lead and inspire our in-house creative team. This role will oversee the development of all visual content across our brand portfolio under the Amylu Foods umbrella. As a key leader within the marketing department, the Creative Director will serve as the bridge between design and marketing—guiding the creative vision, managing projects, developing team members, and ensuring our design output meets both brand and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead and mentor a team of graphic designers, nurturing a culture of creativity, accountability, and collaboration.
  • Identify opportunities to expand or enhance the creative team with high-value talent (e.g., motion designers, photographers, content creators).
  • Embrace and amplify individual strengths within the team to maximize creative output and growth.
  • Provide feedback and inspire elevated design skills and creative thinking across the team.

Project & Workflow Management

  • Act as the creative team’s project manager—assigning tasks based on skillset, managing capacity, and ensuring an even and efficient distribution of work.
  • Hold weekly creative meetings to assess and discuss team workloads
  • Manage project requests and timelines, oversee resource planning, and deadlines to keep creative execution on track.
  • Establish and implement processes for project workflow
  • Ensure creative projects align with broader marketing calendars and campaign goals.

Creative Oversight & Execution

  • Serve as the final reviewer for all creative deliverables before they reach the marketing team, ensuring brand consistency, polish, and strategic alignment.
  • Guide the development of compelling, brand-forward design assets for retail, digital, social, packaging, and sales enablement.
  • Elevate the overall creative standard of the organization—bringing innovative thinking and fresh ideas to every campaign and asset.
  • Keep up with relevant design trends.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Act as the liaison between the marketing and creative teams, translating conversations and briefs into actionable design direction.
  • Collaborate closely with marketing and sales to bring campaigns to life visually while meeting strategic goals.
  • Partner with leadership to maintain, identify, direct, and develop brand identity and guidelines with the larger marketing team for all sub-brands under the Amylu portfolio.

Brand Stewardship

  • Be a champion for the Amylu Foods brand and all associated sub-brands—ensuring every asset reflects our values, personality, and visual identity.
  • Continually raise the bar for visual storytelling across all consumers and B2B touchpoints.

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in art direction, brand design, or similar role, with at least 5+ years leading a team. Experience leading an in-house team is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in art, graphic design or related field
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating leadership in branding, digital, and packaging design.
  • Proven experience managing projects from concept to completion, with exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
  • Expert-level skills in Adobe Creative Suite; experience with project management tools a plus (e.g., Smartsheet, Asana, Trello).
  • Excellent communicator with a collaborative mindset and strong attention to detail.
  • Prior experience in the CPG, food, or retail space strongly preferred.
