Ketchum is looking for a VP, Copywriter to join their team!

This individual will work with colleagues to develop writing and editing content. Assignments will vary from the simplest news stories to more challenging assignments.

About the Job

• Create / concept, inspire and execute great work, including content, campaigns, experiences, presentations and activations
• Provide strategic and aesthetic oversight, directing the execution of all creative efforts to insure they are on strategy, on budget, and on schedule
• Lead individual new business efforts in conjunction with senior management to grow department and increase revenue
• Develop and build relationships with existing agency clients
• Successfully evaluate and select creative, art and copy pertaining to brand activations
• Responsible for overall quality and presentation of client work
• Play primary role in client presentations and consistently demonstrate high level competency in selling an idea, responding to questions and communicating the agency’s point of view
• Review incoming job starts, creative briefs and other forms of project initiation to ensure team has essential information and sufficient time
• Effectively develop and communicate marketing strategies and creative standards
• Allocate resources to jobs based on skill set, timelines, budget and workload
• Identify best creative solution and execution without regard for where the idea originated
• Create and develop a team environment that facilitates : mutual respect and partnership across functions, quality thinking, appropriate risk taking, open lines of communication between staff and managers, on-going performance feedback and professional development

Qualifications

We’re looking for required skills, and they can come from any combination of education and experience. Diversity of thought and background are encouraged. Typical qualifications include :

• At least 10+ years of agency experience working on development of all aspects of creative content including, social, web and video. Experience specifically within a social, digital or communications agency setting is preferred.
• Proven track record in growing busines
• Direct experience in building and managing teams
• Remain up-to-date with current and emerging trends within digital creative developments.
• Ability to effectively manage multiple projects, and lead a team, to deliver all aspects on time and within budget
• Team-oriented nature, and the ability to naturally lead a team of creatives to have a collaborative approach to creative development
• Strong client management skills, with the ability to easily articulate and present conceptual ideas effectively
• Copywriting and / or design background necessary
• Experience working on global accounts, and the ability to work across offices to lead creative content
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Experience with data visualization storytelling is a plus

The salary range for this position is $120,000 to $140,000. This position may be bonus eligible depending on individual employee performance and Ketchum business performance. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, education, years of experience, past training, skills and abilities of applicant, internal equity and local geographic market data. A range of medical, dental, vision, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and / or other benefits also are available.
