We are seeking a Vice President-level Senior Relationship Manager in our Diversified Industries Group, primarily covering the East Bay Market in the San Francisco Bay Area. The ideal candidate has 10+ years of experience calling on companies in middle market generating $50MM - $2B in revenue and has established relationships with customers, COIs, and key stakeholders in the Bay Area.

The RM will be responsible for driving new client acquisition and growth in market share in this middle market segment across all industry verticals. Successful RMs develop and leverage strong relationships with the Portfolio Management and Treasury Product Services Teams, as well as other key product and support partners within the Commercial Bank across various geographies to deliver an exceptional customer experience. Additionally, the RM will leverage the bank and deliver the integrated BMO One Client focus across all lines of business including Wealth, Retail, Small Business, and Capital Markets.

Facilitates growth initiatives for the Bank through significant business development and excellent management of key client relationships. Maintains a continuous record of revenue generation from sales and syndications. Ensures adherence to audit, regulatory, and compliance policies.

  1. Leads and executes business development plans to meet or exceed business goals.
  2. Provides strategic input into business decisions as a trusted advisor.
  3. Makes recommendations on strategy and initiatives based on an understanding of the business.
  4. Acts as a subject matter expert on relevant regulations and policies.
  5. Advises on sales strategy, market trends, and client needs.
  6. Conducts analysis to resolve strategic issues.
  7. Develops business cases and assesses investment returns.
  8. Recommends priorities, resource needs, and strategic roadmaps.
  9. Networks with industry contacts for insights and best practices.
  10. Coordinates database management and data governance.
  11. Leads change management programs.
  12. Manages risk in the assigned portfolio.
  13. Oversees review processes and documentation.
  14. Executes operational programs and assesses quality of execution.
  15. Acts as daily sales contact for clients regarding products and services.
  16. Prepares and tracks sales activities and documentation.
  17. Supports pre-sales activities, client research, and proposal preparation.
  18. Tracks implementation and improves sales support materials.
  19. Provides research and data to facilitate client solutions.
  20. Ensures seamless client experience and accurate billing.
  21. Serves as a resource to senior leaders and stakeholders.
  22. Addresses complex problems creatively and adapts to trends.
  23. Broader responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Typically 7+ years of relevant experience and a related post-secondary degree or equivalent.
  • Experience in business development, networking, and industry knowledge.
  • Experience in negotiations, RFP responses, and sales strategies.
  • Deep knowledge of risk management, relationship management, and sales management.
  • Strong leadership in change, conflict resolution, and resource planning.
  • Solid business acumen, financial understanding, and strategic thinking.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and influence skills.
  • Ability to manage ambiguity and make data-driven decisions.
  • Professional expertise in relevant fields and industry.

Salary: $120,000.00 - $222,600.00
