How You’ll Impact

The Training Manager (TM) is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing NAYA's training and development programs across all locations, ensuring a skilled and high-performing workforce. Responsibilities include designing and refining training programs for store management and crew, standardizing processes across the organization and collaborating with the Culinary Team and Senior Operations Management to implement new operational procedures.

The TM partners closely with Area Managers, senior management, culinary teams and Human Resources to align training initiatives with company goals, ensuring operational consistency and delivering high-quality products and services to NAYA’s customers. This role also supports recipe development, culinary trials, system rollouts and enhancing overall operational effectiveness and growth.

What You’ll Do

Training & Development Oversight

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the Certified Trainers, ensuring they have the skills and resources to drive effective training.
  • Collaborate with Area Managers to train new managers, ensuring alignment with role expectations, leadership skills, and team management practices.
  • Oversight for training restaurants and the Training General Managers to ensure that those restaurants are operating at the highest standards.

Operational Collaboration

  • Work closely with the Culinary team to support the development, testing, and rollout of new recipes and culinary systems, incorporating feedback from the operations team.
  • Oversee and maintain training materials in collaboration with the Training Content Manager and Field Training Manager.
  • Act as the company administrator for Naya’s training site, ensuring the LMS platform is maintained, accessible, and meets training objectives. Works through Training Content Manager on video and asset completion.
  • Works with Senior Training and Development Manager to regularly review and refine training programs, adjusting for company growth and new operational processes.

Program Development & Standardization

  • Establish and update training structures and content to maintain high standards of service, product quality, and operational excellence.
  • Regularly communicate with operations management regarding training, rollouts, NRO activities, and team development initiatives.
  • Create and enforce a consistent framework for training managerial roles, ensuring all new hires are aligned with NAYA’s culture and performance expectations.
  • Implement and support culinary trials to review and refine new recipes and systems, ensuring smooth rollouts across locations.
  • Track and report on training metrics and KPIs to measure the impact and ROI of training programs.

Who You Are

  • 3+ years of hands-on leadership experience in a fast-casual or full-service restaurant environment.
  • 2+ years in a training leadership role, with demonstrated success in developing and implementing training programs.
  • Strong proficiency with training platforms and familiarity with digital training tools (Opus experience a plus).
  • 2+ years of experience with administrative responsibilities, including email correspondence, conference calls, and proficiency in Word/Excel.
  • Prior experience as a New Restaurant Opening Trainer or Certified In-store Trainer is highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to assess training needs and adapt programs based on performance data.
  • Thorough knowledge of food safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and credibility across all levels of the organization.
  • Positive leadership qualities that inspire team members to meet and exceed standards.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to manage timelines and deadlines independently.
  • Adaptability in a dynamic, fast-paced environment; passion for food and beverage, with awareness of food trends.
  • NY Department of Health & Mental Hygiene Food Protection Certificate holder.
