ManTech seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Technical Writer to join our team in Herndon, VA, to create and maintain technical documentation related to a mission-critical application in support of one of our key National Intelligence Customers .
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Create and maintain technical documentation for software applications, systems, and processes, including user manuals, system guides, release notes, and knowledge base articles.
Collaborate with subject matter experts and software developers to gather information and understand complex technical concepts.
Translate technical information into clear and concise documentation that is easily understandable by end-users.
Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and quality of all technical documentation produced.
Organize and structure information effectively to facilitate easy navigation and retrieval of documentation.
Review and edit existing documentation to improve clarity, accuracy, and readability.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software developers and solutions architects, to gather information and provide input on documentation requirements.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, English, Information Security, Computer Science, or related field of study
4+ years of experience in Technical Writing in the Intelligence Community
Proficiency in using documentation tools and software, such as Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, and content management systems.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) or other IT Service Management Frameworks.
Knowledge of IT security best practices and compliance standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST 800-53)
Certifications in technical writing, documentation management, or related field (e.g., Technical Writer Certification, Certified Professional Technical Communicator – Foundation)
Familiarity with the Agile development methodology and software development lifecycle.

Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office
machinery, etc.
Frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may
involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in
these situations.
