Job Description

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Quality Manager to lead our quality assurance and food safety programs at a high-volume processing facility. This is a critical leadership role responsible for ensuring our products meet the highest standards of safety, regulatory compliance, and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on expertise in quality systems, team development, and continuous improvement in a USDA-regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities:

· Lead and manage the site’s Food Safety and Quality Management System (FSQMS), ensuring compliance with USDA, FDA, and third-party standards.

· Oversee daily QA and sanitation operations including inspections, testing, documentation, and audit readiness.

· Serve as the facility’s primary liaison during regulatory inspections, customer audits, and third-party certifications (e.g., SQF, BRC, HACCP).

· Mentor and develop a team of quality technicians and sanitation personnel; foster a culture of ownership, accuracy, and accountability.

· Investigate non-conformances and implement corrective/preventive actions to maintain consistent product quality.

· Collaborate with production, maintenance, and R&D to drive quality improvement initiatives and support operational excellence.

· Manage and monitor KPIs, trends, and reporting related to quality metrics, complaints, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications :

· Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Animal Science, Microbiology, or related field.

· 5+ years of experience in a USDA-regulated food production environment, including 2+ years in a quality leadership role.

· In-depth knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, SSOPs, and regulatory standards (USDA, FDA, GFSI).

· Experience with auditing and third-party certification programs (e.g., SQF, BRC, ISO 22000).

· Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

· HACCP certification required; SQF Practitioner or PCQI certification preferred.
