Position Overview:
Provide comprehensive psychiatric care to inmates at Williamson County Jail, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and management of mental health disorders. Collaborate with jail staff to reduce recidivism, ensure compliance with state and medical standards, and deliver evidence-based care in a correctional setting.

Qualifications:
?Education: MD or DO degree.
?Licensure: Active, unrestricted Texas medical license.
?Certifications: Board certification in Psychiatry required
?Experience: Correctional and forensic psychiatry experience required.
?Technical Skills: Proficiency in EMR systems.
?Soft Skills: Strong communication, collaboration, and adaptability in high-stress environments.
Key Responsibilities:
?Conduct psychiatric evaluations and prescribe psychotropic medications (formulary|non-formulary).
?Develop standing orders for psychiatric care and maintain accurate EMR records.
?Coordinate with medical staff, attend interdisciplinary meetings, and consult remotely as needed.
?Ensure compliance with Texas Commission on Jail Standards and medical best practices.
?Participate in virtual court hearings for psychoactive medication orders.
