JOB SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:

Beretta USA Corp. is seeking a motivated entry-level Product Value Engineer to join our Research & Development team at our Gallatin, TN facility. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on problem solver to help enhance product value through cost reduction, design optimization, and manufacturing efficiency in the firearms industry.

As Product Value Engineer, you will support cross-functional teams by analyzing designs, identifying improvement opportunities, and assisting in the execution of cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality or performance. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Assist in the analysis and evaluation of current firearm designs to identify cost reduction opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Design, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Quality teams to assess and improve value across the product lifecycle.
  • Perform component and assembly tear downs to conduct benchmarking studies.
  • Support ideation and execution of VA/VE workshops and Kaizen events.
  • Utilize 3D CAD tools to model part and assembly alternatives for cost and performance evaluation.
  • Work with procurement and vendors to identify alternative materials, processes, or suppliers.
  • Conduct cost-benefit analyses to validate proposed design or process changes
  • Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement projects.
  • Assist in preparing technical reports, presentations, and documentation of improvement efforts.
  • Maintain project documentation, cost savings logs, and support metrics tracking for VA/VE activities.
  • Provide support for engineering change notices (ECNs) and bill of material updates.
  • Develop test plans, conduct product testing, and generate detailed test reports.
  • Identify and implement product improvements in cost, performance, manufacturability, and quality.
  • Investigate and solve product-related issues and challenges.
  • Maintain Bills of Materials and Item Data in CAD and MRP systems.
  • Conduct tolerance studies and apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (ASME Y14.5) to complex components.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Collaborate with Industrial Engineers, Manufacturing Engineers, and Product Engineers to understand constraints and opportunities for cost optimization.
  • Provide support to cross-functional initiatives including standardization, modular design, and design for manufacturability (DFM).
  • Assist with the onboarding of new cost-reduction tools and methodologies.
  • Continuously develop knowledge in firearm systems, manufacturing methods, and cost estimation techniques.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Work is performed in a group professional office environment with periodic time spent in laboratory, shop floor, and test range environments. Requires the ability to perform hands-on part evaluations and testing activities involving firearms. Occasional lifting of items up to 50 lbs. may be required.

QUALIFICATIONS/ABILITIES:

  • Technical understanding of the function of small arms.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical systems and components.
  • Familiarity with design for manufacturability (DFM), value engineering principles, and root cause analysis.
  • Working knowledge of CAD software (NX preferred) and 2D/3D drafting practices.
  • Ability to analyze technical data and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Familiarity with materials, finishes, and basic manufacturing methods.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and presentation skills.
  • Enthusiastic learner with a strong interest in engineering cost optimization.
  • Ability to manage time effectively in a dynamic environment.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 0-2 years of mechanical experience required.
  • Experience with CAD modeling and basic engineering analysis.
  • Internship or project experience related to cost reduction, design improvement, or VA/VE preferred.
