About Us:

Lago Vista Property Owners’ Association (LVPOA) is located on the beautiful North Shore of Lake Travis, only 20 minutes from Cedar Park, TX. The LVPOA is governed by a seven-member Board of Directors. The Board hires the General Manager to manage operations and implement Association policies. The General Manager hires and leads staff in four departments: Office/Accounting, Parks/Marina/Campground, Facilities, and Security Ranger Dept, including seven direct reports and a total of 42 staff.

The Association’s 8,100 members enjoy many common property recreational amenities including nine lakefront parks (350 acres total), six party pavilions, five playgrounds, four boat ramps, a marina, an indoor fishing well, a campground, a swimming pool, a disc golf course, tennis, pickleball and basketball courts, two fitness centers and several facilities with meeting rooms. LVPOA does not maintain an architectural committee or personal property inspection team, but relies on the City to enact and enforce ordinances on home owner’s property.

The General Manager role encompasses the following major responsibilities:

· Manage, maintain, and improve LVPOA amenities for the benefit and enjoyment of our members;

· Provide excellent customer service to our members;

· Ensure the safety and soundness of the Association through careful financial management and good governance and compliance with Association policies as well as state law.

Essential General Manager Duties:

1. Responsible for the administration and operation of the Association, including: reviewing and evaluating the results of LVPOA policies and manuals; ensuring contractual obligations are fulfilled; allocating resources for greater effectiveness and efficiency; ensuring proper maintenance and repair of association property; and developing organizational and administrative policies and objectives for Board consideration.

2. Analyzes and evaluates vendor services, all association insurances, employee benefits and management of LVPOA funds, that will best meet the needs of the LVPOA. Make recommendations to the Board, negotiate services, terms and premiums, and execute contracts with insurance providers; supply and service vendors, auditors and consultants, payroll processor and benefits programs.

3. Has oversight of project quotes, negotiation and control of contracts and construction projects.

4. Communicates effectively with the Board of Directors, Association members, and local community groups through effective written documents or website posts, verbal briefings, or presentations.

5. Establishes a cooperative and helpful relationship with all members, Board of Directors, and civic and community organizations.

6. Oversees the development of budgets for submission to the Board; ensures ongoing compliance with approved budgets; proposes revisions as necessary. 

7. Oversees all accounting functions including those necessary for auditing, budgeting, financial analysis, capital asset and property management and payroll in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and all other applicable rules and guidelines.

8. Responsible for Human Resource management and overall leadership and supervision of staff. Responsibilities include hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

9. Responsible for building an esprit de corps within the staff, so that teamwork is inherent throughout the organization and everyone is focused on providing outstanding service to our membership.

10. Responsible for providing information and advice to the Board of Directors in the creation of policies, procedures for operations and strategic direction of the association. Information includes association governing documents, Federal, State, local and POA laws and regulations.

11.Maintains Association management credentials with continuing education training including staying up-to-date with POA laws and best practices. (CMCA, AMS, or PCAM)

12.Other duties as directed by the Board or Board President.

Qualifications

· Minimum ten year’s experience managing a similar size business/business type, and/or non-profit operational and financial management, property management, or related experience.

· Ten year’s progressive employee supervision, training, and team-building experience.

· Driver’s License with acceptable driving record and clean drug screen.

· Bachelor’s degree in business or related degree.

· CMCA, AMS or PCAM certification preferred.

Schedule

· Ability to work extended hours and respond to emergencies in a timely manner.

Working Conditions

· The majority of work will be indoors in the LVPOA office, but will also entail walking / working outdoors to be with staff, perform inspections, host regular tours, or attend to other property needs.

Salary Range

• $80,000 to$120,000 based on years of directly related experience and applicable certifications.
