Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Electronics Technician III to support the CSE Controls Lab operations at GOB. This role is responsible for the setup, troubleshooting, maintenance, and continuous improvement of test systems and lab operations. The ideal candidate will bring strong knowledge of electronic circuits, troubleshooting expertise, and hands-on experience with measurement tools. This role may require night shift work and collaboration with engineers and other technical staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete assigned Work Orders, including tasks related to troubleshooting, system setup, and development activities
• Monitor and act on work orders submitted during night shifts, as well as those assigned by the lab manager
• Perform hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) system setup and ongoing maintenance
• Resolve software and hardware issues in test systems and equipment
• Support daily equipment setup and configuration changes for HIL test environments
• Ensure benches have required software items installed (e.g., CyberApps plant models, LUIS configurations, support sequences)
• Modify wiring harnesses as needed for testing, including peripheral integration with engine parts (e.g., IAT, EGR, VGT), sensors, and instruments
• Maintain accurate system configuration documentation (hardware, cards, serial numbers, etc.)
• Execute system setup, calibration, and process improvement tasks
• Maintain CAN panel configuration documentation
• Perform scheduled harness maintenance, including review and updates in coordination with relevant teams
• Configure and maintain actuator carts and related components
• Support system hardware checkouts and track due return dates
• Collaborate with hardware engineers to fulfill project support needs
• Build and document custom test hardware, including ROM boot setups, specialized harnesses, and small integrated instruments
• Provide general daily lab support, including troubleshooting, lab upkeep, and inventory management
• Contribute to the creation and maintenance of troubleshooting guides and technical training materials
• Support lab process enhancements and continuous improvement initiatives

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 3+ years of experience in an electronics technician or similar technical role
• Strong understanding of electronic circuits and troubleshooting techniques
• Hands-on experience using electronic tools and data measurement systems
• Ability to read wiring diagrams and maintain system documentation
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a collaborative mindset

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience working in a test lab or HIL environment
• Familiarity with Client tools and systems is a plus
• Background supporting automotive or engine-related hardware
